Get packaging data from your suppliers without chasing spreadsheets
Merchant Packaging gives your suppliers a structured way to submit their packaging data - validated on intake and fed straight into your compliance workflows.
The problem
Your EPR declarations are only as good as the data behind them. And that data starts with your suppliers. Most businesses collect packaging specs via email, spreadsheets, or PDFs - then spend hours cleaning, validating, and re-entering it. Every new product launch or supplier change restarts the cycle.
Under PPWR, you need accurate component-level data for every packaging unit: materials, weights, recycled content, recyclability. If your suppliers can't provide it in a structured format, the burden falls on you.
How it works
Invite suppliers to submit packaging data through a structured declaration form
Data is validated on intake - material codes, weights, recycled content, completeness checks
Accepted data flows directly into your packaging database at SKU and component level
Any gaps or inconsistencies are flagged for follow-up before they reach your declarations
What suppliers provide
The declaration form captures:
- Packaging components and materials per SKU
- Material weights at component level
- Recycled content percentage (with clear distinction between "not recorded" and "zero")
- Packaging format and construction details
- Certifications (compostability, food contact, etc.)
Suppliers submit data in good faith against a clear declaration, with a visible submission date and reference number for audit purposes.
Clean data in. Clean declarations out.
